Proving a forum to liaise with other regional business groups
Budleigh in Business is now represented at East Devon Business Forum and the Association of East Devon Chambers of Commerce. At the AEDCC we are working together with the 6 other East Devon towns to try to get a stronger voice with East Devon District Council.
We were invited early in 2013 to attend a meeting of the EDDC Business Task and Finish Forum. This gave us the platform to argue for better dialogue of the EDDC with local businesses. The objective is to help them to understand the key issues facing businesses and the consequences of their decisions.
We are looking at developing a common platform for marketing East Devon and pooling our business networks to provide you with new opportunities to promote your business.
We are also looking into Brown signage to Budleigh and the beach with the council: Signs from Newton Poppleford and the top of East Budleigh hill at the Knowle turning. This is alongside our request to be represented on the Budleigh Salterton Traffic and Liaison group, still in discussion. Here potential agenda items could be:
• Business advice forum on assistance with rates
• Cohesive Parking measures (across DCC and EDDC)
• Signage
• Empty Homes Strategy
• Local Plan and its implementation
